Vision

Our vision is a sustainable, just and democratic society where every person is included, participates and has influence in everyday life, in the workplace and in society at large.

If we are to meet the major challenges of the future, such as environmental degradation, global warming, the risk of nuclear war, the risk in general artificial intelligence, growing economic inequality, pandemics and global financial crises, we need to work together. By harnessing everyone's skills, interests, knowledge and creativity, we will be smarter and more capable of acting effectively together.

More democracy is not just a utopian vision, it is something that in today's digital age is eminently concrete, possible and rational, for non-profit organisations and businesses as well as political parties and states. But getting there requires both knowledge and good democracy tools. That's why we founded the Association for Digital Democracy. We are here to help your organisation to:

• Develop innovative open-source tools for your organisation's needs.
• Improve your internal democracy by offering a review of your internal culture of democracy and making suggestions for more democratic ways of working that could increase your productivity.
• Disseminate knowledge and stimulate interest in effective democratic decision-making and organisational practices by offering democracy workshops, lectures and courses in democratic organisation.

By starting to implement more democratic ways of working from the bottom up in smaller parts of society, such as municipalities, trade unions, factories and cooperatives, to higher levels, our democratic methods and digital tools can be gradually developed, improved and scaled up.

Our hope is that our tools can eventually be implemented at regional, national or even global level. So far, however, there are not enough studies on the application of digital democracy tools for decision-making at higher levels in society. For the time being, we therefore only recommend the use of our tools to small and medium-sized organisations and companies.
